Registered Nurse - Endoscopy (Travel/Contract)

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Provide nursing care for patients undergoing GI and Bronchoscopy procedures, including administration of sedation. Participate as a key member of a surgical team performing multispecialty procedures. Manage the assigned operating room environment.


Schedule

  • Day/Evening shifts, Monday to Friday
  • 8-hour shifts with rotating start times between 6:30 AM and 9:00 AM
  • No on-call requirement
  • May need to stay past shift end to complete schedule

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 2 years of endoscopy experience, with at least 1 year within the last year
  • Two or more years of total travel nursing experience
  • Ability to perform moderate sedation in procedures and manage pre/post care at all levels including PACU/Phase I and Phase II recovery
  • Basic arrhythmia experience
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Licensure & Certifications

  • Registered Nurse license valid in Wisconsin or a compact state license from permanent address state
  • BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association only

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to perform moderate sedation in procedures and manage pre/post care
  • Telemetry competency required; pass facility-specific Telemetry test before starting
  • Permanent address must be within 50 miles of the primary work site
  • Flexibility to float to multiple units or locations as staffing needs require

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background check within 90 days prior to start, including multi-location history and criminal review if applicable
  • Education verification as applicable
  • Various facility-specific health documents including immunizations and screenings (e.g., TB test, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B)
  • Drug screening per standard clinical requirements
  • Annual competency exams and telemetry testing as required
  • Signed acknowledgments for safety manuals and pass/fail testing for telemetry

  • Parking permit required if parking onsite; alternative transportation options available
