Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Travel/Contract)

Location: Metairie, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day (5x8 hours), 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Hours per Week: 40

Job Details

• Perform 16-20 cases per day
• Call requirement: 1 day per week
• Weekend requirement: 4-6 weekend shifts
• May float to Cath Lab as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year
• Required certifications:

  • ARRT - Radiology Technologist or ARRT - Diagnostic (Interventional Radiology Technologist)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (name must match all documentation)
• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including:

  • Social Security trace
  • County, nationwide, sex offender, federal extended, FACIS Level 3 checks
  • Must be updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Drug screen within 30 days of start (10-panel including marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates, etc.)
• Employment application with 7 years of work history, no gaps over 30 days
• Skills checklist within 12 months of start, updated annually

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start (not required by employer but required by placement agency)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declinations accepted with proper forms)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start (two-step skin test or equivalent)
• Annual TB questionnaire required
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola) – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
  • Mumps – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
  • Rubella – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
  • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination (declinations must be signed within 12 months of start)
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31), with exemptions and declinations accepted with proper documentation

Competency Requirements

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam within 12 months of start, updated annually (minimum 80% score)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam within 12 months of start, updated annually (minimum 80% score; only 2 attempts allowed)
• Core competencies Part I, II, and III required and must be updated annually

Additional Notes

• Employee appearance policy must be reviewed prior to starting
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification may be required depending on unit assignment (not typically required for this specialty)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit assignment; verify based on specific work area

This position offers a 13-week contract length.
