Job Opportunity: MRI Tech

Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Shift:
    • Standard weeks without Saturday: 5 shifts of 8 hours (11:30 AM – 8:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
    • Weeks with Saturday: 4 shifts of 8 hours (11:30 AM – 8:00 PM, Monday to Friday) plus 1 Saturday shift (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
    • Total hours per week: 40 hours
  • Weekend Requirement: As per shift details (Saturday shifts on some weeks)
  • Call Requirement: No
  • Float Requirement: May be required to float between two outpatient facilities as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • Certifications/Licenses:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification required

Additional Requirements and Information

  • Must comply with a 60-mile radius rule for travel
  • Locals may be accepted on a case-by-case basis
  • Facility uses Epic for charting
  • Dress code: Teal top and black pants
  • No holiday shifts required
  • No guaranteed call shifts; facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • During hurricane season (June through November), employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Certifications such as ACLS, PALS as applicable (AHA or ARC approved)
  • Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required
  • Physical exam within 90 days prior to start, confirming fitness to work without restrictions
  • Immunizations and health screenings required:
    • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer; declination accepted for Mumps and Rubella only
    • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
    • Varicella vaccination, documented history, or declination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption (no declinations accepted)
  • Drug screening: 10-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
  • COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
  • Photo for badge required prior to start
  • Radiation exposure attestation required before start

  • This is an outpatient clinic setting
  • No call or holiday shifts required
  • Floating between two outpatient locations may be necessary
  • Radiation badge process may take 5-7 days; candidate cannot start floor work without badge
