Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Palliative Care
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide palliative care focusing on relief from side effects of serious illness.
- Care includes end-of-life comfort and symptom management (e.g., uncontrolled pain, severe nausea/vomiting, failure to thrive, fatigue).
- New unit opening soon; initial assignment may involve floating to inpatient units for training and exposure to various patient populations.
- Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts; schedule reviewed every 4 weeks but subject to staffing needs.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of palliative care experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
