Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical)
• Shift: Nights (48 or 36 hours shifts; indicate preference)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Nursing Ratio: 1:7 (team nursing; higher ratios with support from PCC, RN, etc.)
• On-Call: As needed
• Weekend Requirement: As needed (no weekend block schedule, but weekend block may be considered)
• Locals: Not accepted (strict 100-mile radius rule)
• First-time Travelers: Not accepted unless 3+ years recent experience
• Level I Trauma Experience: Required
• Large Hospital Experience: Required
• Prior Travel Experience: Required

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Experience working with Level I Trauma patients
• One completed travel nursing assignment
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background checks within 60 days of start, including statewide, county, federal, and education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated annually
• Social Security Card and two forms of government-issued ID required
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending compliance allowed)
• Immunizations:

  • Proof of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccines or positive antibody titers with boosters if needed
  • Hepatitis B vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccine or positive antibody titer with boosters if needed
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• TB testing: True 2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot within 1 year, updated annually; chest x-ray if positive
• Fit test for 3M N-95 mask within 1 year of start (no exceptions)

Additional Information

• Strict dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs, no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
• Photo badge required prior to start (passport-style photo with specific guidelines)
• Two recent professional references required
• Skills checklist and internal evaluation required if employed with agency for 1+ year
• EPIC questionnaire required for RNs (testing out of EPIC training possible with experience)
• On-call and weekend shifts as needed; no block scheduling except possible weekend block
