Job Summary

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Minimum of 1 year of Utilization Review experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications (as applicable)
- ACLS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation equivalent)
- BLS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation equivalent)
- PALS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation equivalent)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) if applicable
- Chemotherapy certification if required by clinical track
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification if applicable
- IV Certification (if applicable)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) if applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification (every 2 years) if applicable
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) if applicable
- NURSYS verification for RN license

Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
- Education verification required for nursing degree.
- Drug screen: 10 panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years (declination accepted)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates.
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) may be required.
Competencies and Training
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable.
- Competency exams required by specialty.
- Color Blind Testing if required by unit.
- EFM training or certification required for Labor & Delivery RNs.
- WorkRamp LMS modules:
- Annual regulatory and specialty-specific modules required.
- Modules assigned based on region, specialty, and facility.
- Completion required prior to start and annually thereafter.
Additional Requirements
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/subcontractors).
- Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years.
- Skills checklist updated annually if applicable.
- Float policy acknowledgment may be required (ability to float to other Providence facilities).
