Occupational Therapist - Home Health
Location: San Diego, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide Occupational Therapy services in a Home Health setting.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday with one weekend day on call.
- Local candidates are welcome.
- Home Health experience preferred but candidates without Home Health experience will be considered.
- OASIS experience is required.
- Hours are based on completed visits (25 visits = 40 hours). Hours are guaranteed if 25 or more visits are completed.
- Mileage reimbursement follows IRS standard.
- COVID exemptions permitted.
- Candidates with a pending California OT license will be considered if the application has been submitted.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
- OASIS experience
Certifications & Compliance Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA Instructor or Provider acceptable, required for all.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (NRP), Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) as applicable.
- National certification verification as applicable (NBCOT not required for Occupational Therapists).
- Primary source online verification of state license.
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable (minimum 80% passing score).
- Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG required annually.
- Government-issued photo ID and valid passport required before start.
- Photo for badge (passport style).
- Personal or auto insurance and auto registration required and must be kept current during assignment.
- Training content and hand hygiene policy acknowledgments required prior to start.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within past 10 years (declinations not accepted).
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 1 year; if past positive TB, annual TBQ and chest X-ray within 5 years required.
- Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) for candidates born in 1957 or later; declinations not accepted.
- Hepatitis B titer or vaccine series; declination accepted if within 1 year of start.
- Varicella immunity or vaccination; declinations not accepted.
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start.
- Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required year-round; declinations accepted.
- COVID-19 vaccination proof or medical/religious exemption required prior to start.
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references required.
- Employment application and annual skills checklist required.
Notes
- This position is open to candidates with pending California OT licenses who have applied prior to submission.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
