Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)

Location: Springfield, Oregon Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: ASAP (4 weeks from offer for compliance requirements) Employment Type: Travel/Contract Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week

Schedule and Call

• 4x10-hour shifts, 11:00 to 21:30 (the source lists this as both an evening and a day shift)

Facility and Clinical Focus

• Short-term acute care facility with 385 staffed beds
• Level II Trauma Center
• Robotic Center of Excellence, with 3 Xi robots and 2 DV5 robots deployed
• Volume: 60 to 70 cases per day
• Busiest service lines: Ortho (including total joints and trauma), Neuro (including craniotomy), General/Trauma, Vascular (AAA, carotid, and femoral cases are most common), GYN/Uro, and Robotics
• Common equipment: Doppler, ultrasound, Neptune, Aquamantis, video systems, lasers, various stapling systems, Hana and Jackson tables

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 3 years of experience
• Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network
• Experience working with Vascular patients
• Experience working with Orthopedics patients
• Experience working with Neuro Trauma patients
• Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
• Experience working with GYN patients
• Experience with robotic surgery
• Experience with vascular surgery, including AAA repair
• Experience with total joint surgery procedures
• Experience with eye surgery, including vitrectomies, scleral buckles, retina, and cataract procedures
• Experience with craniotomy
• Ability to scrub without a sales rep for knees and hips, and shoulders if possible
• Travel experience required
• Mastery of AAA and femoral cases from the start
• Pending license accepted: Yes

Onboarding and Compliance

• Background check within 60 days of start, including a 7-year search, SSN trace, federal and national criminal search, and Social Security verification
• Federal exclusion checks (EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG) run 15 days before start and every 45 days after
• Education verification for highest education related to specialty (transcript or diploma acceptable if school cannot be verified)
• Washington placements only: WA State Patrol check within 90 days before start
• Drug screen within 30 days of start, including amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, methadone, 6-monoacetylmorphine, opiates, oxycodone/oxymorphone, and PCP; marijuana is required for Oregon and Alaska candidates only
• Color blind test required
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative IGRA or 2 PPDs within 1 year of start, with an annual TB questionnaire
• Immunity documentation or declination for rubeola (measles), mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B
• Tdap vaccine or declination
• Seasonal flu vaccine or declination on file during flu season (11/01 to 03/31; deadline 10/31)
• Onsite fit test within 1 year, updated annually, with an N95 mask; facial hair must be kept clean shaven when N95 use is required
• RespSafety clearance (required for onsite candidates, updated annually)
• Online orientation test, requiring a 100% score before start
• Passport-style badge photo with white or gray background
• Criminal disclosure statement, signed before start
