ICU RN Travel Contract

Overview

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Location: Metairie, Louisiana
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Night, 3x12 hours
• Hours per week: 36
• Contract length: 7 weeks

Unit Details

• ICU experience required: 2 years
• CVICU experience is highly preferred
• Patient ratio: 1:2, sometimes flexes to 1:3
• Weekends required: Yes
• Call required: No
• Floating required: Yes

  • May float to all ICUs
  • May also float to the ED or PACU to care for ICU patients
  • May occasionally float to MS/PCU units with 1:4 ratios

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Epic

Clinical Expectations

• Nurses perform lab sticks, EKGs, and line starts
• Must be able to care for isolation patients
• May still have COVID-19 patients
• Know your N95 mask size

Additional Notes

• RTO limited to 5 days total
• CPI may be completed onsite if not already certified, with completion required within 30 days of start
• CPI Blue Card is accepted only
