Job Description

• Shift: Nights
• Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday
• Patient Ratios: 1:4-6

Unit Details

• Special Procedures:

  • Primary Stroke Center (gold + with AHA)
  • STEMI cases will be shipped if catheter intervention is needed
  • Two locked units in the Emergency Department (ED) for Behavioral Health care (ratio 1:6)
  • Two rapid evaluation units for urgent and critical care needs with rapid medical screenings

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience required
• First-time travelers are accepted

Certifications

• Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Additional Certifications (may be required)

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
• CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
• NIH Stroke Certification
• Other unit-specific certifications as required

Compliance and Documentation

• Health Documents:

  • Physical Exam (within 1 year)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year)
  • Tdap vaccine (within 10 years)
  • Flu vaccine (during flu season)
  • Drug screening (within 30 days)
• Background Check: Required within 6 months of start
• References: 2 professional references within the last 2 years
• Employment Application: Required
