Registered Nurse – Post Partum/OB/Labor & Delivery

Location: Cadillac, Michigan
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (36 hours/week)
Schedule: Every other weekend, every other holiday, no on-call required
Overtime: Available after 40 hours, no guaranteed hours

Job Description

• Provide care for laboring patients, including fetal monitoring
• Manage mother/baby dyads and OB triage
• Experience preferred with sick/transitional nursery and circulating in cesarean sections
• Scrub experience in C-section is a plus
• Utilize EMR systems Oracle PowerChart and Fetal Link
• Hospital provides scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Michigan
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of Post Partum experience, with experience within the last year
• Labor and Delivery experience
• Certifications (must be active at start date):

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Certified Fetal Monitoring Course (C-FMC) or Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Preferred Certifications

• Inpatient Obstetrics
• STABLE certification

Health and Compliance Requirements (Must be completed prior to start)

• Proof of MMR vaccination or positive titer
• Influenza vaccine required from November 1 through April 30 (no declinations accepted except approved medical/religious exemptions)
• Negative TB test (T-spot or QuantiFERON within 6 months preferred, or 2-step skin test completed within 6 months)
• Varicella vaccination or positive titer (history alone not accepted)
• Fit for Duty health statement completed within 1 year of start
• Drug screen results within 90 days prior to start

Onboarding Documentation (Must be uploaded promptly)

• Signed agreement for system access
• Driver’s license or state ID
• Social Security card and verification (no attestations or trace reports accepted)
• Two professional references from managers, supervisors, or charge nurses (attestations not accepted)
• Criminal background check within 90 days, including 7-year national search, sex offender database, and FACIS Level 3 (no pending counties accepted)
• Education and employment verifications (minimum 2 employers over 2 years, third-party verification required)
• OIG, OFAC, and National Sex Offender searches within 90 days
• Completed I-9 attestation
• Emergency contact form
• Badge photo (shoulder/head with plain background)
• Core competency exams (OSHA & JC) and skill-specific competencies at time of hire

• No on-call duties
• No guaranteed hours; overtime available after 40 hours worked

This position is ideal for experienced OB nurses comfortable with labor and delivery, mother/baby care, and fetal monitoring in a night shift setting.
