Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Location: Dyersville, Iowa

Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Description

• Work schedule includes 1800-0630 shifts and every 3rd Friday/Saturday/Sunday evening on holiday rotation (at least one holiday during assignment).
• Two RNs will care for medical-surgical patients; when an emergency department (ED) patient arrives, one RN will move to the ED side to provide care.
• Average daily census (ADC) is approximately 3 patients.

Required Qualifications

• License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Iowa.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association certification required.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - American Heart Association certification required.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certificate required.
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) required.
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required.
• Other Requirements:

  • Fit test for respiratory protection.
  • 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start date (no THC).
  • Physical/Health statement confirming fitness to work within the last year.
  • Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the last year.
  • Immunizations and health screenings including:

    • COVID-19 vaccine or approved exemption.
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or immunity proof.
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series (titers not accepted).
    • Influenza vaccine or approved exemption (seasonal).
    • Varicella vaccination or immunity proof.
    • Tdap vaccination (declinations accepted if no pediatric interaction).
    • 2 Step PPD or IGRA (TB screening).
• Background Checks and Compliance:

  • Federal, state, and county criminal background checks within the last 7 years.
  • Sex offender and abuse registry checks as required by Iowa law.
  • Employment eligibility verification (I-9).
  • Various professional and compliance forms and disclosures required prior to start.
