Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER (Travel)

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
• Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly (1 cancellation allowed per 2-week period)
• Float Requirements: May float within like departments; ED nurses may float to ICU inpatient units and assist as aides if needed
• On Call/Call Back: None

Unit Information

• Type: Emergency Room
• Patient Volume: Approximately 100 patients per day, including many pediatric and asthma cases
• Bed Size: 12 beds
• Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients
• Work Environment: Fast-paced, requires resilience, ability to manage change, and strong social skills

Required Qualifications

• License: Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Certifications:

  • AHA BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • NIHSS Certification
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (ER)
• Prior Travel Experience: At least one completed travel contract required (No new travelers)
• Charting Experience: Meditech strongly preferred; mandatory Meditech training during compliance
• Other: Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change

• No time off requests over 7 days allowed
• COVID-19 vaccination required unless approved medical or religious exemption is granted prior to start date
• Orientation is bi-weekly, 12 hours non-billable, and GSA hours are not guaranteed during orientation week
