Registered Nurse (MS) - Travel Assignment

Location: Moreno Valley, California
Contract Length: 27 weeks

Job Summary

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on a Medical-Surgical (MS) unit.
• Assess patients on admission and reassess regularly, at least every shift, considering physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.
• Develop, review, and update individualized plans of care based on patient assessments and data.
• Administer medications (oral, topical, parenteral) following the "7 rights" of medication administration.
• Monitor and document patient responses to treatments and medications, including pain management and discharge planning.
• Perform treatments and procedures adhering to nursing best practices, hospital policies, sterile technique, and patient privacy standards.
• Interpret diagnostic data and communicate changes in patient condition promptly to the healthcare team using SBAR communication.
• Participate in multidisciplinary care planning and patient education using appropriate resources.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, hospital infection control policies, and blood transfusion protocols.
• Understand and comply with hospital emergency codes, disaster plans, and rapid response activation.
• Maintain accurate, legible documentation including date, time, signature, and title.
• Adhere to patient rights, confidentiality, and safety standards.
• Use two patient identifiers as per hospital policy.
• Practice proper hand hygiene before and after patient contact.
• Follow guidelines for Core Measures and vaccine control.

Required Qualifications

• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Recent Medical-Surgical (MS) experience in an acute care facility.
• Recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required due to float assignments.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

Additional Information

• Staffing type: Supplier sourced staffing.
• Must demonstrate knowledge and ability to manage patients in restraints per policy.
• Understand and appropriately use the Chain of Command.

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with recent acute care MS and PCU experience seeking a travel assignment in California.
