RN Surgical/Trauma ICU - PM Shift
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Patient Population
- 34 Bed Surgical & Trauma ICU
- Patient population includes Surgical, Trauma, and Transplant (Kidney, Liver, Pancreas) patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratios typically 1:2; may be 1:3 during low acuity
- Expected to float to other equivalent ICU and Stepdown units as needed
Work Schedule
- 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours each)
- Every other weekend required to work
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 2 years of Critical Care Float experience, including within the last year
- Minimum 1 year or more of total travel nursing experience
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma adult patients
- Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit (STICU) experience
- Experience with Epic EMR/charting system
- BLS issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Experience
- Surgical ICU or Trauma ICU experience
Certifications & Compliance Requirements
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- Fit Test for N95 or PAPR respirators (annual requirement)
- ECG Exam completion and certification
- Immunizations and health requirements:
- MMR (proof of 2 vaccinations or positive IgG titer)
- Hepatitis B series or declination
- Varicella (proof of 2 vaccinations or positive IgG titer)
- TB Test (completed within 60 days prior to start)
- Physical/Health Statement within 1 year
- Influenza vaccine required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions considered case-by-case)
Background & Screening
- Criminal background check completed within 90 days prior to assignment start (7-year county and national, SSN trace, sex offender, OIG, SAM, OFAC checks)
- 9-panel drug screen completed within 60 days prior to start (marijuana removed; must repeat with any break in service)
- Two professional references from charge nurse or higher within last 2 years
- Education verification of highest level completed
- Valid driver’s license or government-issued ID (address must match profile)
Onboarding & Training
- Badge photo (color, recent, professional headshot)
- Skills checklist current within 12 months prior to start
- Internal competency checklist to be completed within 2 weeks after start
- Annual compliance training module completion required
- I-9 E-Verify attestation
Additional Notes
- Candidate’s legal name and address on all licenses must match government ID
- All certifications and documentation must be completed and uploaded as required prior to or during onboarding
- Failure to complete required checklists or training on time may result in removal from assignment
