Job Description

  • Provide safe patient care using nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Deliver direct patient care within scope of practice in the Emergency Department.
  • Guide patient/family teaching and supervise other nursing personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.
  • Responsible and accountable for patient care in the Emergency Department.
  • Communicate changes in patient condition and diagnostic results to physicians.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response.
  • Knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and mandatory reporting of child/adult abuse.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Required Credentials & Certifications (Must be current and uploaded prior to onboarding)

Certifications

  • BLS (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
  • PALS (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
  • NIHSS
  • DCI/BVP (Workplace Violence Prevention training)

Licenses

  • Active Nursing License verified via Nursys

Testing & Exams

  • Prime Basic Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%)
  • Prime Basic Rhythm Interpretation Screening (minimum 80%)
  • Prime Specialty Exam (minimum 80%)
  • Prime Core Competencies Exam (minimum 80%)
  • Prime Skills Checklist (submission required)

Professional Requirements

  • Prime Education Verification
  • Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport
  • Prime OIG Exclusion Check
  • Prime SAM/EPLS Exclusion Check
  • Prime Resume (submission required)
  • Two Professional References (submission required)
  • Prime Agency Attestation (completed after all credentials uploaded)
  • Prime Criminal Background Check (within one year; state-specific exceptions apply)
  • Social Security Card or Passport
  • Prime Badge Photo (clear headshot, JPEG format)
  • Prime Form I-9 (Employment eligibility verification)

Personal Health History & Immunizations

  • COVID-19 Vaccine: 2 doses plus booster or documented declination
  • MMR: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination (declinations not accepted at some locations)
  • Influenza Vaccine or declination (required seasonally)
  • TB Test within 1 year of start date
  • Annual TB Questionnaire
  • Varicella vaccination or immunity titer
  • Tdap vaccination (declinations not accepted at some locations)
  • Fit Test: Annual respirator fit test completed prior to start (no onsite fit testing in IL)
  • Physical/Health Statement: Annual clearance to work required (within 60 days of start)
  • Drug Screening: Minimum 10-panel test including THC within 60 days of start

Optional

  • Name Verification Affidavit (if name discrepancies exist)
  • Positive PPD with Negative Chest X-Ray documentation (optional)
  • Certificate of Authenticity (COA) for travel assignments (not required for per-diem)

  • Must comply with all credentialing and onboarding requirements prior to start.
