Job Opportunity: Sleep Technician (Travel)

Location: Oneonta, New York
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Details

• Unit: Polysomnographic Technologist (Sleep Tech)
• Facility Coverage: Cobleskill with occasional coverage at Fox Sleep Lab
• Unit Size & Patient Volume: 4 beds (combined Cobleskill & Fox)
• Patient Ratio: 2:1
• Patient Population: Adults (13+)
• Common Disorders:

  • Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA)
  • Central Sleep Apnea (CSA)
  • Mixed Complex Apnea
  • Narcolepsy
  • Some Cardiac and Seizure cases

Primary Sleep Studies Conducted

• Polysomnography (PSG)
• PSG with titration
• Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT)
• Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT)
• Inspire titration (training provided, new service)
• Scoring
• PSG with seizure montage

Technology & Equipment

• Scoring & Reporting Software: Cadwell

Work Schedule & Requirements

• On-Call: No
• Certification Requirements:

  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) OR
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with Sleep Disorder Specialist (SDS) credential
• Must be able to score studies in real-time while performing them, requiring strong multitasking skills.
• Role involves working independently with minimal supervision.

• BLS Certification
• License/Certificate Verification
• Core Competencies, Unit Exam, and Skills Checklist specific to the facility
• Immunizations and Health Requirements: MMR, Fit Test, Hepatitis B, Influenza Vaccine, TB Test, Varicella, Annual TB Questionnaire, Physical/Health Statement
• Professional Requirements: Driver's License/State ID, 2 Professional References, Criminal Background Check, Resume, Webchecks, National and State Sex Offender Registry checks, Education Verification, Employment Verification, Drug Screen
• Facility-specific client forms and confidentiality agreements
