Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician

Location: Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of experience
• Recent experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist within the last year

Health and Safety Requirements

• N95 Respirator Fit Test within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no onsite fit testing; must use specific form)
• Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity (2 measles, 2 mumps, 1 rubella vaccine or 2 MMR vaccines)
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 – April 30); no exemptions allowed
• TB screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), updated if break >6 months
• Physician health statement signed within 365 days of start date, updated if break >6 months
• Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity strongly preferred (not mandatory)
• Tdap vaccine preferred (within 10 years)
• Positive TB test requires chest x-ray showing no active tuberculosis

Background and Compliance Checks

• Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, including international searches if applicable
• Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date
• National sex offender registry check within 30 days of start and updated annually
• Exclusion checks against OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid lists within 30 days of start and annually
• Social Security Number trace covering past 7 years of addresses/employment/schooling
• Verification of highest level of education achieved (not required for CNA positions)

Documentation and Submission Requirements

• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state
• Two recent professional references (minimum one supervisor or above) in the skillset
• Skills checklist required for submission
• Candidate submission coversheet required
• Confirmation of assignment/POI form required upon acceptance and for extensions

Additional Notes

• Primary source verification of professional license/certification required within 30 days of start date and updated upon expiration
• No religious exemptions for N95 fit testing or influenza vaccine
• Fit test attestation and respirator medical clearance attestation required
• All required documentation must be current and compliant with Massachusetts Department of Public Health regulations
