Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Description

Provide nursing care to patients in behavioral health settings, including geriatric, medical/surgical, adult psychiatric, substance abuse, and detoxification populations.
Support unit preparation for Epic EMR go-live; Cerner and Epic EMR experience required.
Work at multiple campuses based on staffing needs.
Participate in nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in coordination with healthcare team members.
Monitor, observe, and report patient reactions and behavioral changes.
Maintain professional nursing standards and effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
Occasional on-call duties during low census periods; must be able to respond and arrive on-site within one hour if called.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa.
Minimum of 2 years of Behavioral Health nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Experience with Cerner electronic medical records system.
Experience with Epic electronic medical records system.

Additional Information

This role supports a critical EMR transition and requires flexibility to work across multiple campuses.
Occasional on-call availability is expected but not part of regular rotation.
High standards of professional nursing and teamwork are essential.

This job is suitable for experienced behavioral health RNs comfortable with EMR systems and flexible work locations.
