Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical/Telemetry (Night Shift)

Location: Fort Madison, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM

Job Summary

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
• Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Care for geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, and telemetry patient populations.
• Must self-study telemetry strips upon acceptance; a basic dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week and must be passed to continue working on the telemetry/med-surg unit.
• Occasional on-call availability may be required during low census periods; if called in, must respond and arrive onsite within one hour.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Information

• This is a night shift position on a telemetry/medical-surgical unit.
• The assignment length is approximately 13 weeks.
• The traveler is responsible for passing a dysrhythmia test early in the assignment to continue working on the telemetry unit.
• Occasional on-call duties may be required, with a one-hour response time if called in.

This position is suitable for experienced RNs with strong telemetry and med-surg skills, comfortable with night shifts and occasional on-call responsibilities.
