Job Opportunity: RN Telemetry

Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: Approximately 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Accepts 36 to 48 hour shifts
  • Every other weekend required
  • Chemo certification preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Florida
  • Minimum of 1 year telemetry nursing experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

Professional Documentation

  • Resume/Profile required for submission
  • Signed assignment agreement required prior to onboarding
  • Two professional references required prior to first assignment
  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others completed within 30 days of assignment start
  • Employment verification for the past seven years
  • Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start

Certifications & Testing (Must be current and valid)

  • BLS (AHA)
  • NIH Certification (updated yearly or every two years depending on group)
  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.) with minimum 80% passing score
  • Ascension EKG Exam with minimum 80% passing score
  • Ascension Cerner Test-Out and Training Checklist
  • Ascension Skills Checklist updated annually for specialty

Health & Immunizations

  • MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted
  • Varicella: Documented proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
  • Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season; declinations accepted with mask requirement
  • 2-Step PPD or IGRA testing with annual TB questionnaire
  • Fit Test for respiratory protection, updated annually
  • Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
  • 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter

Additional Requirements

  • Driver’s License or State ID (must be current and match address on file)
  • Color vision test completed prior to start and updated every 3 years
  • Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no filters)
  • Completion of onboarding education attestations and modules prior to clearance
  • Confirmation of assignment documentation upon initial assignment and extensions

Work Schedule & Environment

  • Telemetry nursing role requiring monitoring of cardiac patients
  • Every other weekend coverage required
  • Shift lengths of 36 to 48 hours accepted

This position is suitable for experienced telemetry RNs who meet the licensing and certification requirements and are comfortable with extended shifts and weekend rotations.
