Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule & Work Environment
- Every other weekend
- No on-call duties
- Uniform: Ceil blue scrubs
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: Cerner OneChart
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical (Med Surg) RN experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
- Signed assignment agreement prior to onboarding
- Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics (minimum 80% passing score, two attempts allowed)
- NIH Certification (updated yearly or every two years depending on group)
- Passing score on Cerner test-out exam (minimum 80%, two attempts allowed)
- Unit-specific checklist (optional but may be required by unit leader)
- Completion of onboarding education attestation and contract worker onboarding modules
- MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training
- Pre-hire modules including Nova StatStrip training
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others (updated annually or after break in service)
- Employment and education verifications (updated annually or after break in service)
- Skills checklist for clinical specialty (updated annually)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Documentation of:
- Two MMR vaccines or positive immunity titer (no declinations accepted)
- Two Varicella vaccines, serological evidence of immunity, or verified history (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Influenza vaccine during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Tuberculosis screening:
- 2-step PPD or IGRA test within required timeframes
- If positive, negative chest X-ray within one year and annual TB questionnaire
- Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite)
- Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
Additional Notes
- All required documents and verifications must be current and uploaded as specified prior to or at onboarding
- Some training and testing must be updated every 1-3 years depending on the requirement
- Passing scores and compliance with all testing and certifications are mandatory for clearance
