Job Opportunity: RN Post Partum
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Job Description
Provide postpartum nursing care in a hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Minimum of 2 years of postpartum nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current Driver's License
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
Professional Documentation:
- Resume/Profile required for submission
- At least two professional references prior to first assignment
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 90 days of start
- Employment verification for past seven years
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start
- Signed assignment agreement and confirmation of assignment on agency letterhead
Health and Safety:
- Proof of immunizations and health screenings:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
- Varicella (two vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history; no declinations accepted)
- Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine (optional; if declined, mask required during flu season)
- 2-Step PPD or IGRA testing with annual TB questionnaire
- Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred before start, can be done onsite)
- Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
Testing and Competency:
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out (Cerner system competency)
- Specialty exam in postpartum nursing with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
- Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics, updated every 3 years
- EKG exam with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
- Skills checklist completed within one year of start and updated annually
Additional Requirements:
- Color vision test completed prior to start and updated every 3 years
- Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)
- MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training
Notes
- Some onboarding requirements must be completed prior to or at the start of the assignment; others require annual updates.
- Optional unit-specific checklist may be required by unit leadership within one week of start.
- Driver’s license or state ID must be current and match address on file; specific address requirements apply if working outside home state.
