Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Cases per Day: 5-10
- Experience Required: Minimum 2+ years in specialty (Radiology / Cardiology)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted
- Schedule Requirements:
- Every other weekend and holidays as applicable
- On-call up to 3 nights per week (5 PM – 7 AM)
- No block scheduling
- Locals Accepted
- Unit: Cardiac Interventional Radiology
- Scrubs: Provided by hospital
Licensure & Certifications
- New Jersey State License required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) required
- Teaching hospital experience required; Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
Skills & Procedures
- Scrub and circulate during procedures
- Interventional body and neuro procedures
- Endovascular interventions
- Abdominal & pelvic interventions
- Genitourinary interventions
Equipment Experience
- Sterile procedure and equipment setup
- Closure devices
- EKOS system
- Familiarity with GE and Phillips Angio Suites
Charting System
- EPIC: Radiant, Q-site
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including criminal, alias, and state-specific searches required within 30 days of start
- Drug screening within 30 days of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as per facility policy
- Physical exam within the last 12 months confirming fitness for duty and communicable disease free
- Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
- Fit testing and respiratory medical clearance as applicable
- Color blindness testing if job tasks require color discrimination
- Various competency exams including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, and pass/fail testing required within 72 hours of signing
- Annual education sign-off and facility-specific orientation required
- References: 2 within last 2 years (one managerial)
- Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history required
- Work history verification required for New Jersey candidates (minimum 1 year prior to start)
Additional Notes
- Teaching hospital and trauma experience preferred
- On-call and weekend/holiday coverage required
- Hospital provides scrubs
- Locals are eligible to apply
- No prior travel experience required
