Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Pediatric ICU (Travel/Contract)

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Specialty & Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Unit: General Pediatric ICU
• Minimum Experience: 2 years PICU experience (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Certifications Required

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC Provider card required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC Provider card required
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) appreciated but not required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Not required for PICU but may be preferred depending on patient population
• Other certifications may be required depending on specialty or unit (verify as needed)

Schedule

• Flexible working schedule to fit unit needs
• Options for 36 or 48 hours per week

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 60 days of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG exclusions checks required within 60 days of start
• International background check required if candidate has traveled outside the USA in the last 7 years
• State-specific background checks (Missouri) required within 60 days of start
• Drug screening: Negative 7-panel drug test within 60 days of start
• NURSYS verification (RN license) required within 60 days of start
• Primary source verification of state license required within 60 days of start

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be initiated within 48 hours of signing)
• Fit mask test valid within 1 year (3M 1870+, 1860R, 1860S, 9205) required
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years or approved exemption
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (annual updates required)
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines required; boosters if no proof
• Hepatitis B series or positive/reactive titer required; declinations no longer accepted for new candidates
• Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if no proof
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

Documentation & Other Requirements

• Photo for badge (new candidates only)
• Employment application/resume with minimum 7 years employment history, no gaps over 30 days
• Two professional references within last 2 years
• Skills checklist updated annually
• MO Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) or MO Caregiver search must be on file within 60 days before start
• Various facility-specific forms and acknowledgments required within 60 days of start

This travel RN position in the Pediatric ICU requires a minimum of 2 years PICU experience, PALS and BLS certifications, and compliance with extensive background, health, and immunization requirements.
