Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Pomona, California

Job Description

  • Work schedule: 4 days per week, 10 hours per shift
  • Shift times vary: 08:00-18:30 or 07:00-17:30
  • Weekend work required
  • On-call required on weekends, holidays, and after hours depending on department needs
  • Experience required: Minimum 2+ years in Interventional Radiology (IR) and Neuro, including scrubbing and filming
  • Licenses required: ARRT certification and Fluoroscopy license

Required Certifications

  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • Fluoroscopy Certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA only
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA only
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA only (required/preferred depending on unit)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – AAP through AHA only (if applicable)
  • CCRN (Critical Care RN) – Preferred for IR RNs
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Preferred for ER RNs
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – Required for L&D RNs (if applicable)
  • Tech Certification Verification (National) – Required for IR Techs (ARRT)
  • State License – California Radiology license with Fluoroscopy certification
  • NURSYS Verification – For RNs, LVNs/LPNs, APRNs
  • IV Certification – Required for LVN/LPNs at all Pomona facilities
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) – In-person course required for ER RNs
  • NIH Stroke Certification – Accepted from all vendors, valid for 2 years (required for IR units)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – In-person course acceptable in lieu of MAB for ER RNs

Experience & Background Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of IR and Neuro experience, including scrubbing and filming
  • Complete 15+ years of work history with locations (cities/states) for background check purposes
  • 2 professional references from managers, supervisors, Charge RNs, or HR (one must be from most recent experience)
  • Background checks covering last 7 years, including:
    • Social Security Address Check (last 15 years)
    • National Criminal Search
    • Sex Offender Search
    • Education Verification
    • International searches if applicable
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
  • Medi-Cal Exclusion Search (California-specific) within 30 days prior to start

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, cleared to work without restrictions
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination within 10 years
  • Immunity or vaccination records for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (vaccination series, titer, or declination)
    • Varicella (chickenpox)
    • Hepatitis C (titer accepted)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or facility-specific declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or facility-specific declination (with mask requirements if declined)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (no instant tests accepted)
  • Fit mask test for specified N95 masks or PAPR training onsite if unable to pass fit test

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Dress code: Solid colored scrubs only (no camouflage, jean texture, or character patterns)
  • Badge photo on plain blue background, passport-style, required within 72 hours of signing
  • Completion of facility orientation packet and acknowledgment prior to start
  • Completion of facility-specific modules via LMS platform (WorkRamp) with passing score above 80%
  • Review and sign various facility policies including:
    • Fingernail hygiene
    • Timekeeping acknowledgment
    • Acknowledgement of responsibility
    • Standard of care acknowledgment (for specific units)
    • COVID-19 exposure questionnaire
    • Privacy and security information
    • Parking regulations
  • Drug Diversion Module required for all RNs and LVNs prior to start
  • Annual renewal of certain documents and certifications as required

Additional Notes

  • Radiation badges for new candidates are supplied by the facility, not by the agency
  • Facility requires primary source verification of licenses within 30 days of start
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests must be completed annually with a minimum score of 80%
  • Some certifications and background checks must be updated annually or after a gap in shifts

This position is ideal for experienced Interventional Radiology Technologists with the required certifications and willingness to work varied shifts including weekends and on-call hours. Compliance with extensive background, health, and facility-specific requirements is mandatory.
