Job Details

Required Qualifications

  • Licensure: Valid California RN license at time of submission
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • Must pass a Telemetry test at orientation to remain on assignment
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in the unit specialty (IMC)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Orientation & Testing

  • Telemetry test required at orientation
  • Pass/Fail arrhythmia exam prior to start for Tele, IMC, and other units
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam with 80% pass rate, to be completed within 12 months of start
  • Unit specialty competency exam with 80% pass rate, to be completed within 12 months of start
  • Core competency exams (Parts I, II, III) with 80% or above, updated annually

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • I9 verification
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal, national, sex offender, FACIS Level 3, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG within 30 days of start
  • NURSYS verification for RN license
  • Photo for badge (white background, headshot with shoulders, no selfies)
  • Online orientation completion prior to start
  • Flu vaccination or declination form required annually (seasonal flu documentation due by October 31)
  • Negative 9-panel drug test within 30 days prior to start
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP confirming good health and free of communicable diseases
  • Fit mask test within 12 months of start (annual renewal required for Aya direct candidates)
  • TB screening (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year and updated annually; TB questionnaire annually if past positive
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (vaccination series, positive titer, or declination accepted)
  • COVID vaccination preferred; if unvaccinated, facility-specific declination required
  • References: 2 references within 3 years from manager, supervisor, or charge RN
  • Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually)

Additional Notes

  • Float and call responsibilities may be required
  • Weekend shifts may be required
  • Cerner EMR experience preferred
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification not required for this position
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, CHEMO certifications are not required unless applicable to other specialties or units

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of IMC experience, comfortable working night shifts, and able to meet comprehensive compliance and competency requirements.
