Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele) - Travel/Contract

Location: Poway, California
Shift: Nights, 3x12 hour shifts
Float: Position floats between Poway and Escondido campuses

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of directly related RN experience in specialty (Medical-Surgical/Telemetry)
• 2+ years Telemetry experience required
• Bachelor's Degree required
• Cerner EMR experience required

Required Licenses and Certifications

• Current California RN License
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) - Healthcare Provider
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA only, required for Telemetry
• Other certifications may be applicable depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC) but not required for this role

Required Documentation and Compliance

• I9 verification
• Driver’s License or State ID with address
• 7-year background check including county criminal, national criminal, sex offender, FACIS Level 3, OIG/GSA, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• NURSYS license verification within 30 days of start
• Badge photo with white background (headshot with shoulders, no selfies)
• Online orientation completion prior to start
• Pass/fail arrhythmia exam prior to start for Telemetry unit
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam with 80% pass rate, completed within 12 months of start
• Unit specialty competency exam with 80% pass rate, completed within 12 months of start
• Core Part I, II, and III competency exams with 80% or above, updated annually
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP, confirming good health and free of communicable diseases
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start (annual renewal required for Aya direct candidates)
• Negative 9-panel drug test within 30 days prior to start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella) or declination forms as applicable
• Flu vaccination or declination form required annually prior to flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31)
• COVID vaccination preferred, declination accepted with facility-specific form
• Employment application and skills checklist updated annually
• Two professional references within 3 years from manager, supervisor, or charge RN

• This is a backfill position
• Floating between campuses requires flexibility
• Must carry copies of required certifications at all times
• Compliance with all facility-specific training and testing is mandatory

This position is ideal for experienced Telemetry RNs with strong clinical skills, Cerner EMR proficiency, and the ability to work night shifts in a dynamic hospital environment.
