Job Opportunity: Med Surg/Tele Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Auburn, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Discipline: Registered Nurse

- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12s)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend and every other holiday
- Floating: Required as per facility needs
- Start Date: ASAP
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg/Tele nursing experience (within the past year)
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
Required Skills / Competencies
- Med Surg/Tele nursing
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Use of Rapid Response/Code teams
- Peripheral line care/management
- Oxygen administration (nasal cannula, oxygen tanks)
- Non-invasive airway management
- Isolation precautions
Required Licenses and Certifications
- License: New York State Registered Nurse License
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
Additional Requirements and Assessments
- Pass a telemetry assessment (minimum 80%) on the first day of orientation covering cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Background checks including SSN trace, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG prior to start
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, signed by a licensed provider
- Fit mask test within 12 months, updated annually
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- TDAP vaccine (within last 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray as applicable
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Drug screening (9 panel) within 30 days of start
- Completion of facility-specific documents and acknowledgements (e.g., Code of Conduct, Patient Abuse Reporting, Confidentiality Agreement)
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
Work Policies
- Call-off policy allows up to 3 shifts off per 13-week assignment
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with application; no RTO approved after offer
- Nurses responsible for covering any additional shifts if needed
