Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Pain Management / Interventional Radiology
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 5x8 hour shifts, 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM (No block scheduling)
- Call Requirements:
- On-call rotation assigned weekly, Monday-Friday, 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
- Weekends and holidays on-call 24 hours, rotated among all nurses
- No holidays off except for on-call
- Occasional weekend day shift needed (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
- Return to Office (RTO):
- Maximum 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days
- No RTO on holidays, weekends, or the day before/after a holiday
- Floating: Mandatory float facility; travelers will float within Radiology and Pain departments
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Additional: Staff required to wear lead protection
Required Qualifications
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Pain Management / Interventional Radiology)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience (highest required)
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (required for Interventional Radiology RNs)
- Licensure: Valid RN license for Illinois (pending licenses not accepted)
- Local Candidates: Accepted and preferred (within 75 miles of facility)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

- Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year, updated annually
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with boosters if low titer
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination within 1 year
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer with booster if low titer
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 1)
- Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and color blindness testing required within 12 months of start
- Facility-specific rules of behavior and forms must be completed

- This is a mandatory float position within Radiology and Pain Management departments.
- On-call and weekend coverage are required as part of the schedule.
- No pending licenses accepted; must have active Illinois RN license.
- Local candidates preferred but travelers are accepted.
This position is ideal for experienced RNs with at least 2 years in specialty nursing, who are comfortable with mandatory floating, on-call rotations, and working in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment.
