Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Pain Management / Interventional Radiology

Job Details

• Shift: 5x8 hour shifts, 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM (No block scheduling)
• Call Requirements:

  • On-call rotation assigned weekly, Monday-Friday, 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
  • Weekends and holidays on-call 24 hours, rotated among all nurses
  • No holidays off except for on-call
  • Occasional weekend day shift needed (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• Return to Office (RTO):

  • Maximum 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days
  • No RTO on holidays, weekends, or the day before/after a holiday
• Floating: Mandatory float facility; travelers will float within Radiology and Pain departments
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Additional: Staff required to wear lead protection

Required Qualifications

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Pain Management / Interventional Radiology)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience (highest required)
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification (required for Interventional Radiology RNs)
• Licensure: Valid RN license for Illinois (pending licenses not accepted)
• Local Candidates: Accepted and preferred (within 75 miles of facility)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID)
• Background checks covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 12 months, signed by PA, NP, DO, or MD
• Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with boosters if low titer
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination within 1 year
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with booster if low titer
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 1)
• Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and color blindness testing required within 12 months of start
• Facility-specific rules of behavior and forms must be completed

Additional Notes

• This is a mandatory float position within Radiology and Pain Management departments.
• On-call and weekend coverage are required as part of the schedule.
• No pending licenses accepted; must have active Illinois RN license.
• Local candidates preferred but travelers are accepted.

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with at least 2 years in specialty nursing, who are comfortable with mandatory floating, on-call rotations, and working in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment.
