Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Titusville, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work unit handles all C-sections for Obstetrics (OB)
• Schedule: 4 shifts of 10 hours each; non-consecutive days with occasional weekend and holiday on-call
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1
• Weekend requirement: Every third weekend
• On-call requirement: Occasional weekend and holiday call (Friday 3pm-6:30am, Saturday 24-hour call, Sunday 6:30am-4:30pm)
• No float required
• No block scheduling allowed
• Local candidates must live more than 30 miles from the facility

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room (OR) specialty
• Operating Room experience within the last year

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association

Additional Skills/Equipment

• Experience with DaVinci robotics and Robotic Velys for orthopedic surgery preferred

Required Licenses

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Background check within 6 months including social security trace, nationwide and sex offender checks, education verification
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start
• Education verification (Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing)
• Required facility-specific job description completion
• Completion of facility eLearning modules prior to start
• Physical exam within 6 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
• Drug screening (9-panel) within 3 months of start
• COVID-19 vaccination documentation or approved exemption forms
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity: MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Annual influenza vaccination or declination documentation (not required for contract workers)
• References: Two professional references within two years
• Performance evaluation within the last year if applicable
• Skills checklist and competency exams as required by the facility
• Color blindness test through Relias (minimum 80%)
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam (minimum 84%)

Important Notes

• Three call-outs during the assignment will result in termination
• Shift change refusals with less than 48 hours’ notice may result in forfeiting guaranteed hours
• Shift change refusals with one week or more notice may result in termination
• Holiday work requirements depend on the number of holidays during the assignment (e.g., if 1-2 holidays, must work 1 evening and 1 holiday shift)
