Job Opportunity: Pediatric Oncology Chemo Certified Registered Nurse
Location: Durham, North Carolina

Job Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Pediatric Oncology, Chemotherapy Certified)
- Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year
- Licensure: North Carolina or Compact nursing license required and must be in hand
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Chemotherapy Certification (ONS/ONCC)
- APHON (Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (First-timer OK)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Orientation: Bi-weekly orientation sessions
- Local Candidates: Accepted within 75 miles
Important Details
- Flu Vaccination: Required with no exemptions or declinations accepted
- Background Checks: Must be completed within 90 days of start, including multi-county and nationwide checks
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam within 12 months
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Required immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Polio
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination required for new candidates starting October through March
- References: Two professional references required from employment within the last 12 months, at least one must be a supervisor
- Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually
- Additional Compliance:
- Must set up a facility-specific guest account prior to clearance
- Completion of facility-specific competency checklists and online modules prior to or during orientation
- Pass/fail testing on EKG/medication knowledge during orientation (not required for RRTs)
