Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Nights
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs/float between like units
Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
Local Candidates: Not accepted (50-mile radius rule from main campus)
Pending License: Not accepted
Return to Travel Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
Contract Limit: 2 contracts max (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months to return
Guaranteed Hours: Call off policy allows 2 shifts off per 13-week assignment; after that, all contracted shifts are guaranteed
Patient Population: Must be comfortable working with both adults and children in ICU and Pediatrics
Time Off: Only 4 days allowed of RTO and no holidays off
Facility Type: Short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital

Experience Requirements
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or Military only; documentation must reflect legal name
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or Military only; documentation must reflect legal name
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): AHA or Military only; required for ED, OR, Peds ED, PICU, and some ICU units
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required for L&D, FCCU, NICU units
- NIH Stroke Certification: Must be updated annually; required for ED, Psych ED, ICUs, Step Down, Med Surg, L&D, Express Care
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing: Required for multiple units including all ICUs, Cath Lab, Med Surg, Peds, Radiology, Step Down, Telemetry
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required and must be renewed annually; minimum passing score 80% with up to 3 attempts
Competencies & Testing
- Pass/fail testing for EKG and medication competency with remediation and cancellation policies
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually with specific unit requirements
Background & Health Requirements
- Background Check: Required within 6 months of start; includes SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, and international search if applicable
- Physical Exam: Required within 1 year, signed by physician, NP, or PA-C; must be updated annually
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (specific substances listed)
- Immunizations & Titers:
- TDAP within last 10 years (no declinations accepted for new candidates)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted for new candidates)
- Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted for new candidates)
- Hepatitis B: Vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted
- TB Screening: Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; annual renewal required
- Flu Vaccine: Required year-round; exemptions allowed only with approved medical or religious documentation; must be updated annually with strict deadlines for submission
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required but accepted if available

Unit is traveler friendly. Higg standards for nursing care. Lots of post partum couplets to care for!
Cons
The pace on this postpartum unit is pretty frantic. Start the day with 4 couplets, discharge 2, admit 1-2. You won't ever stop moving. Drinks only allowed at the "hydration station" and food only in the break room. This was in 2021 so things may have changed.
