Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Indianapolis, Indiana
- Day shift: 4x10 hours, 7:00–17:30
- Option for 5x8 hours, 7:00–15:30
- Contract length: 12 weeks
- General OR experience is okay
- First-time travelers are not accepted
Unit
- Level I trauma center
- Specialties include ENT, Urology, Plastics, General Surgery, Orthopedic, Trauma, and Neurosurgery
- Pediatric population includes neonates, infants, toddlers, children, adolescents, and some adults
- Surgical procedures range from minor to very complex, including ECMO, burn procedures, tumor resections, and trauma procedures
- Equipment includes Stealth, DaVinci, and ROSA
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- Pediatrics OR - Operating Room (2 years of experience)
- Pediatrics OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- General surgery cases experience
- Urology cases experience
- Endo/Laparoscopic cases experience
- Plastics cases experience
- ENT cases experience
- Neuro experience
- Trauma experience
- Neurosurgery experience
Preferred
- Level I trauma experience
- Trauma experience in a Level I trauma center
Additional Requirements
- ACLS
- PALS
- NRP
- CHEMO
- TNCC
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Unit competency exam
- State license verification
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- Color blind testing
- 2 recent employment references
- Current employment application with work history and explanation of gaps of 30 days or more
- Skills checklist completed within 12 months of start and annually
- Application history covering 7 years with all gaps accounted for
Health Documentation
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- TB questionnaire
- Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity by titer or vaccination
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption
- Tdap is preferred but not required
Notes
- IN license and certs must be in hand to submit
- Local travelers with permanent residence in Indiana are offered a reduced bill rate
- Periop/OR RN travelers are exempt from the Indiana contract restriction noted in the source
