<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Nov 9, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 4</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Oncology RN for a night shift position requiring at least 2 years of recent specialty experience and a CA RN license.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Medical Surgical Oncology unit caring for adult and geriatric patients</li><li>Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30</li><li>Cerner EMR experience required and must be noted in work history</li><li>Epic EMR experience also required and must be noted in work history</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active CA RN license in hand required at time of application (EMSA not accepted)</li><li>Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, in hand at time of application</li><li>CPI Blue Card from the Crisis Prevention Institute required for ER and Float Pool nurses only</li><li>Minimum 2 years of recent experience required</li><li>1:5 patient ratio experience required</li><li>Community hospital experience required</li><li>LTAC experience required</li><li>Experience with oncology care including chemotherapy administration and monitoring</li><li>Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line blood draws, PICC line management, and blood product administration</li><li>Experience with respiratory care including tracheostomy management, chest tubes, and BiPAP/CPAP</li><li>Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry</li><li>Two supervisor references required at time of application</li><li>Minimum one year of acute care experience required</li><li>Minimum one year full-time equivalent experience in the specialty required within the past two years</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Provide direct patient care to adults and geriatric patients on a medical surgical oncology unit</li><li>Manage complex patient needs including wound care, isolation precautions, and IV insulin protocols</li><li>Support patients with gastrointestinal, genitourinary, neurological, and endocrine conditions</li><li>Work collaboratively with rapid response and code teams as needed</li><li>First-time travelers are not accepted for this position; prior travel experience is required</li><li>Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate</li><li>Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler</li><li>Requested time off must be submitted at the time of application and cannot be changed once submitted for manager review</li><li>No time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days recommended over the 13-week contract</li></ul>
