Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Assignment Overview

• Location: Baraboo, Wisconsin
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Start date: ASAP
• Shift: Night, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:00), 12 hours per day, 48 hours per week
• Schedule: Will accept 3x12s or 4x12s. 4x12s require every other weekend.
• Ratio: 1:5-6
• On-call: Not required
• Patient diagnoses: CHF, COPD, SBO, sepsis, stroke, DM, ortho, chest pain, wounds, and others
• Facility: Teaching facility; scrub color is navy blue; parking is free in unrestricted spaces

Candidate Eligibility

• Years of experience required: 1 year
• First-time travelers: Accepted
• Local candidates: Not accepted (local radius is 70 miles)
• Pending license: Not accepted; license must be in hand

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
• Medical-surgical (Med Surg) nursing experience of at least 1 year, with experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic

Certifications Dependent on Unit

• ACLS, PALS, and NRP may be required depending on unit. Confirm with the unit description.

Preferred

• COVID vaccine initial series
• Past positive chest X-ray (preferred, not required)

Post-Start Requirements

• Agency personnel orientation checklist, signed by the facility and returned within the first week
• Glucometer assessment, completed during orientation and returned within 5 days

Not Accepted or Not Required

• Local candidates (outside the 70-mile radius)
• Pending licenses
• On-call duties
