Job Description

• Operational Pharmacist role involving review, verification, and dispensing of medication orders.
• Preparation of sterile and hazardous medications according to USP standards.
• Management of controlled substances.
• Completion of medication histories, reconciliation, and patient education.
• Clinical responsibilities include performing clinical interventions, monitoring therapy for optimal outcomes, and providing drug information to healthcare teams and patients.
• Primarily evening shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM.
• Every other weekend required.
• Holidays required (1–2 based on contract length).
• No on-call or floating required.
• Scrubs or business casual attire, any color.
• Must be fully vaccinated including COVID booster.
• Experience with Pyxis and carousel technology preferred but not required.
• Epic charting experience preferred.
• First-time travelers accepted.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Pharmacist license in New Jersey
• Minimum 1 year of pharmacist experience within the last year

Certifications & Competencies

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – AHA or RQI accepted.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA or RQI accepted.
• Pharmacology Competency Exam within 12 months of start, must score >80%.
• Other facility-required certifications and competencies may apply.

Schedule & Work Conditions

• Evening shifts primarily (1500–2300).
• Every other weekend required.
• No on-call duties.
• No floating to other units.

Additional Requirements

• Background check within 30 days of start covering past 7 years.
• Physical exam or "Fit for Work" statement within 12 months of start.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start.
• Drug screening (10-panel urine drug screen) within 30 days of start.
• Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
• Must comply with facility COVID vaccination and booster policy; declinations not accepted.
• Photo submission for badge (passport style, no hats/masks, neutral background).

Notes

• RTLS badge may be issued; traveler responsible for replacement cost if lost.
• No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers are welcome.
• Must complete facility-specific time-sensitive documents within 48 hours of signing.
• Two current references related to the position required.
• Employment verification for past 2 years required.

This position offers an opportunity to work in a hospital pharmacy setting with a focus on both operational and clinical pharmacy duties during evening shifts.
