Medical Lab Technician Travel/Contract Position

Location: Lebanon, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule & Shift Details

• Shift: Four 10-hour days per week (7:30 AM – 5:00 PM), scheduled Monday through Friday with flexibility required
• Must work at least one holiday during the contract

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Medical Lab Technician experience, including experience within the last year
• At least one completed travel assignment required

Licensure & Certifications

• Must hold a valid state license appropriate for Medical Lab Technicians (primary source online verification required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA provider or instructor card) required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required as applicable
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, CPI) required only if applicable to assigned units
• Phlebotomy certification preferred but not required if education includes phlebotomy training

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year comprehensive background check required within 30 days of start; includes SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, and international criminal checks if applicable
• Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Transcript or diploma verification required
• Two professional references required
• Annual skills checklist completion required

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually (3M 1860R or 1860S masks accepted; no PAPRs; facial hair restrictions apply)
• Negative TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year, renewed annually; if positive, chest X-ray and doctor’s letter required
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination accepted)
  • Varicella (titer, vaccine, history of chickenpox, or declination accepted)
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination accepted
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season

Drug Testing

• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant drug screen acceptable)

Additional Information

• Local candidates within 50-mile radius considered local travelers
• No parking cost at facility
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam and color blindness test required as applicable
• Facility-specific training or quizzes may be required depending on unit assignment

This position is ideal for experienced Medical Lab Technicians with prior travel assignments who meet the outlined licensure, certification, and health requirements.
