Job Opportunity: Specialty Pharmacist
Location: Kansas City, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Start Date: April 13
Job Description
- Work primarily in outpatient pharmacy settings (minimum experience required)
- Specialty pharmacy experience preferred
- Experience with Epic Specialty system preferred
- Position needed due to system implementation and surge
Required Qualifications
- Valid Pharmacist license in Missouri
- Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in outpatient pharmacy settings
- Specialty pharmacy experience
- Experience with Epic Specialty system
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during work hours
- Background check within 3 months of start, including county and statewide searches for Missouri and Kansas
- E-Verify proof or attestation
- Various certifications and verifications including ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, and others as applicable
- Pediatric pharmacology competency exam required
- Color blindness testing required
- Physical exam and immunization documentation including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as per facility policy
- Proof of vaccinations or titers for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (no declinations accepted)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start
- References: Two supervisory references or performance evaluations verified within 1 year of start
- Completion of facility-specific health forms and questionnaires prior to start
Additional Notes
- Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Pediatric skills checklist and competency exams are required due to pediatric patient population
- Orientation includes medication review and pharmacology testing
- Compliance with state-specific checks including Missouri Highway Patrol check
This position is ideal for pharmacists with outpatient and specialty pharmacy experience who are comfortable working in a pediatric-focused environment and meeting comprehensive compliance requirements.
