EEG Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Sacramento, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Perform routine and specialized non-invasive neurological tests as ordered by physicians for diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of injury or disease.
• Work independently using clinical skills and sound judgment to deliver accurate and timely results.
• Provide patient assessment, monitoring, care, and effective communication to gain patient and family cooperation.

Schedule

• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (10:45 AM – 11:15 PM)
• Includes weekend rotation
• Total hours per week: 36

Required Qualifications

• EEG Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and motor vehicle report if applicable.
• FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter.
• EPLS, GSA, SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC sanctions list, and Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List checks required as applicable and updated annually.
• Education verification required unless highest education is high school.
• TB Screening Questionnaire required within 90 days of start and renewed annually.
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law).
• Physical exam required within 1 year of start.
• Fit mask test required within 1 year of start and renewed annually (with accommodations considered for religious exemptions or failed tests).
• Immunizations and titers required: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and seasonal flu vaccination during flu season. Medical or religious exemptions considered with proper documentation.
• Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start and renewed annually.

Documentation and Verification

• Must provide full 7 years of work history with no gaps, including city and state of employment.
• Employment verification required for up to 7 years; gaps over 30 days must be explained.
• Two professional references required within 3 years for clinical/allied/per diem acute care candidates.
• Primary source license verification required within 30 days of start.
• Hard copy of professional license or documentation including license number required if not included in verification.

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents prior to start, including standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, and regulatory orientation.
• Conditional offer of employment attestation must be completed prior to start.
• Religious exemption forms required for facial hair (PAPR) and vaccine exemptions.
• Photo for badge required for per diem positions.

Additional Notes

• ICU & MS/Telemetry RNs at certain locations may be required to take EKG competency exams onsite after start (not applicable for this EEG Tech role).
• Venipuncture certification may be required for some tech roles; verify if applicable.
• Medication and pharmacology competency exams may be required as applicable.

This position is ideal for a Registered EEG Technologist with at least 1 year of experience seeking a travel contract in Sacramento, CA, with a defined 13-week assignment and a 3x12 hour day shift schedule including weekends.
