Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum
Location: Billings, Montana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (19:30 – 07:00)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Job Description
- Position is for Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) nursing with couplet care responsibilities.
- Must float to Pediatrics and NICU units; "safety sit" on any unit as needed.
- Experience with labor, delivery, and postpartum care is mandatory.
- Additional experience in high-risk pregnancy and antepartum care is a plus.
- Call requirement: 3-4 call shifts per 8-week block.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Montana.
- Minimum 2 years of Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP) experience, with experience within the last year.
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment.
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Current and valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport).
- Background checks including:
- 7-year criminal background check (must be renewed annually).
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
- Education verification of highest degree.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, or PA.
- Negative drug screen within 30 days of start, renewed annually.
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray, renewed annually.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination.
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination.
- Seasonal flu vaccination (required Oct 31 – Mar 31) or approved exemption.
- COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption.
- Quantitative fit test with 3M mask within 90 days prior to start (unless onsite testing completed).
- OSHA form required for onsite fit testing.
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references required, including one direct supervisor reference within the last year.
- Current employment application covering 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days.
- Employment verification preferred for the last 5 years.
- Must disclose any previous employment at the facility.
Notes
- This position requires floating to multiple units and call shifts.
- Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be considered.
