ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job – Cartersville, Georgia

Position Details

• Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse
• Location: Cartersville, Georgia
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 hours
• Contract Length: 12 weeks

Work Schedule & Expectations

• Weekend shifts every other weekend
• No on-call required
• Floating within the facility as needed, within scope of practice
• Required to work major holidays if they fall during the assignment (up to two holidays)
• Orientation hours are non-billable and proportional to contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8 weeks)
• Must be fully compliant with all requirements before start; delays in compliance may push start date by 2 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, with ICU experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start; includes criminal, sex offender, education verification, and others as specified
• Education Verification: Degree verification required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
• Physical Exam: Required within 12 months prior to start
• Drug Screen: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start; instant drug screen acceptable
• Immunizations & Health Screenings:

  • TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months or chest x-ray if positive history
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed
  • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed
  • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
  • Flu vaccine or signed declination (required during flu season)
  • Tdap vaccine highly recommended (not mandatory)
• Color Blind Testing: Required; alternative assessment available if needed
• Competency Exams:

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required by agency
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for ICU and related units; up to 3 attempts allowed

Additional Requirements

• Must review and sign facility-specific policies including Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
• References: Two clinical references required by agency
• Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
• Verification of most recent work history required; can be pending at start with proof of processing

Notes

• Local nurses are accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Manager review of candidate profile occurs within 48 hours after confirmation
• Maximum response time for Return to Office (RTO) is 7 days
• Clinical pass within Return to Office guidelines and facility-specific requirements is mandatory for offer
