Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Job Description
- Position is for the CVPICU/Cardiac unit.
- Floating to other units is required for most positions.
- Requires approximately 2 years of experience (preferred).
- Must provide 2 supervisory references (Charge nurses count as only 1 reference).
Required Qualifications
- Current Ohio State license for Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) is mandatory.
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) certification required for RRTs.
- Current government-issued photo ID matching the legal name on license and certifications.
- Must have completed all required background checks and verifications within specified timeframes (see below).
Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – AHA/AAP certification required for NICU RNs (verify if applicable).
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – as applicable.
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) – as applicable.
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam – passing score required.
- Competency Exam – passing score required.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including 7-year county search and education verification (standalone through National Student Clearinghouse).
- International background check if lived/worked internationally in past 7 years.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
- Ohio BCI/FBI fingerprinting within 60 days of start, must be updated for each new contract.
- Sex offender search, Ohio Nurse Aide Registry, Ohio Inmate Registry, Ohio Medicaid Exemption, and Ohio State Abuse Registry searches required within 30 days of start.
- Education verification required, including official transcript if needed.
- State license verification within 30 days of start.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start.
- Flu vaccine required annually between October 31 and May 31; medical/religious exemptions require facility approval and mask-wearing during flu season.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required within the last 10 years (must be completed after age 11).
- TB testing options: 2 PPDs or QGOLD/TSPOT within 12 months; additional requirements if positive.
- Hepatitis B: declination, completed 3-vaccine series, or positive titer required.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no religious exemptions accepted.
- Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters required if negative/equivocal.
- N95 fit testing required within 1 year of start and updated annually; specific mask models accepted.
- Infection Control Policy must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start (agency standard), stating candidate is free of communicable diseases.
Additional Requirements
- Legal name on all documents must match license and certifications exactly (including middle name if applicable).
- Address on driver’s license must match address on RRT license for Ohio licenses.
- Ohio driver’s license holders with an address within 60 miles of the facility are considered local and may not qualify as travelers.
- References: 2 professional references required; peer references not accepted.
- Resume or employment application copy required.
- Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually.
Notes
- Fingerprinting must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing the contract.
- Background checks and verifications must be current and compliant with facility and agency standards.
- Floating to other units is expected as part of the role.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
