Occupational Therapist (OT) - Travel Contract Opportunity

Job Description

• Delegate responsibilities to Occupational Therapist Assistants and Aides.
• Perform patient-focused activities including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation following occupational therapy standards and physician orders.
• Evaluate patient function using formal/informal testing to assess skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, and cognitive status.
• Develop goal-specific treatment plans based on assessment data and patient tolerance.
• Submit and update written treatment plans coordinated with physicians.
• Devise treatment schedules specifying frequency and duration, coordinating with patients, families, and clinical staff.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on pathology, prognosis, treatment rationale, and alternatives.
• Supervise Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students per regulatory standards.

Requirements

Experience

• Occupational Therapy experience: Required
• Primarily outpatient experience with some acute care: Required
• Pediatric experience: Required

Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (AHA): Required
• Active Michigan OT License: Required

Additional Requirements

• All scheduling requests must be made at the time of submission; no scheduling changes will be approved after offer.
• Work history and skills checklist current to within 1 year, relevant to specialty.
• Two supervisory reference forms from within the last two years.
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates not considered).
