Registered Nurse — Cardiovascular Operating Room

Job Type

• Travel assignment

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, various day shifts
• 8-hour shifts
• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• Start date: ASAP

Call / Weekend Coverage

• 1 night of call per week
• 1 weekend per month of call
• 1 backup call shift per week
• May occasionally require additional call
• Response time: 30 minutes, ready in the OR
• Every 3rd–4th weekend and holiday rotation

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• CVOR experience within the last year
• 3 years of CVOR experience
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Anesthesia experience
• Conscious sedation experience
• Experience with intubations and fiber optic scopes during intubation
• Experience with sterile techniques for central lines
• Experience assisting with placement of arterial lines
• Experience assisting with placement of central lines
• Experience assisting with placement of lumbar drains
• Experience assisting with placement of Swan Ganz catheters
• Experience running Belmont
• Experience running Cell Saver

Skills / Experience

• Strong OR/CVOR circulating experience
• Experience assisting with anesthesia-related procedures
• Comfortable working across multiple OR specialties
• Strong critical thinking, adaptability, and resilience

Clinical Setting

• Cardiovascular operating room role with a focus on cardiothoracic cases
• Assists anesthesia providers across a variety of surgical specialties

Equipment / Systems

• Epic
• Cell Saver
• Belmont

Additional Notes

• Vehicle required
• 2-week orientation with training for additional anesthesia skills
• Scrub colors provided
• Flu and COVID vaccination declination requires masking during flu season
