MRI Technologist - Minneapolis, Minnesota
Job Summary
- Perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exams for diagnosis and treatment as ordered by physicians or providers.
- Operate MRI systems and related equipment efficiently and accurately.
- Perform IV punctures and administer contrast as ordered.
- Ensure technical accuracy and timely completion of exams.
- Identify anatomical orientation on all images.
- Communicate pertinent data to care team members following examinations.
- Consult with professional staff regarding interpretation of results.
- Schedule patients for MRI exams.
- Assist with quality assurance/quality improvement (QA/QI) of PACS system.
- Ensure proper identification and documentation on all images and related computer functions.
- Stay updated on new developments in MRI technology and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with clinicians, physicians, radiologists, technologists, and patients.
- Provide patient-centered care, adjusting approaches based on patient developmental level.
- Partner with patients and caregivers in care and decision-making.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Individualize care plans and modify clinical interventions based on patient needs.
- Provide patient education tailored to assessed learning needs.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 0.5 to 1.5 years (6 months) experience as an MRI Technologist.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years Siemens MRI system experience required.
- Knowledge of basic nursing practices related to MRI, including emergency procedures, sterile practices, infection control techniques, and CPR.
- Experience working in academic or clinical settings.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Adaptability and ability to collaborate effectively.
Education Requirements
- AAS degree or equivalent hospital-based training program with certificate of completion.
Certifications & Licensure
- Registered Technologist with ARRT certification as R.T. (R).
- BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
