Unit Description

  • Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), 15-bed unit
  • Care for very preterm infants (from 28 weeks gestation) to term infants requiring additional support
  • Medical conditions managed include respiratory support, feeding assistance, neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome, glucose instability, and antibiotic therapy
  • NICU RNs attend all high-risk deliveries and assist with initial assessments
  • Emphasis on evidence-based care including skin-to-skin contact, breastfeeding, and safe sleep practices

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma of Nursing (BSN preferred)
  • Licensure: Ohio RN License or Compact RN License
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (American Heart Association)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills to provide age- and culturally-specific patient care and education
  • Effective communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Commitment to continuing professional growth and competence
  • Ability to adapt to change and work in a culturally diverse environment
