Scrub Tech Travel Position - San Diego, California

Job Summary

• Provide patient care and unit support in the operating room (OR) suite.
• Anticipate procedural needs and assist with dressings or cast application.
• Follow physician preference cards and maintain complete instrumental trays.
• Document and communicate important data, including surgical counts.
• Identify and address problems proactively to improve quality of care.
• Participate in teaching and submit recommendations for process improvements.
• Work additional or different shifts as requested.
• On-call requirements: 12 hours on weekends and 20 hours on weekdays within a 4-week period, with a 30-minute response time. Weekend call is in addition to scheduled weekend shifts.
• Scheduled for two shifts every other weekend.
• Shift start time: 6:30 AM.
• Shift length: 12 hours per day, approximately 36 hours per week.
• One shift per pay period may be canceled without pay.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers.

Additional Information

• Must comply with all regulatory requirements including licensing, certification, TB testing, safety, compliance, and HIPAA training.
• Responsible for maintaining and updating surgeon preference cards.
• Must be able to respond promptly to on-call duties.
• Commitment to ethical standards and patient safety policies is expected.
