Mammography Tech Travel Opportunity - California, Salinas

Job Summary

• Perform mammograms and bone density scans daily following Radiation Practice Standards, ACR, MQSA, and departmental policies.
• Assist Radiologist with needle localization, stereotactic biopsy, and galactogram after completing required training and competency demonstration.
• Obtain and review patient medical history and physician orders before procedures; explain procedures to patients and complete documentation.
• Select appropriate technical factors and operate equipment adhering to Radiation Safety Practices.
• Prepare completed mammograms and studies for interpretation, ensuring proper identification and documentation.
• Participate in Quality Assurance activities related to mammography and bone density, including work with Hologic Selenia and AGFA Printer.
• Report changes in patient condition to Lead Technologist or Radiologist and assist with emergency medical treatment under physician direction.
• Assist with patient exam scheduling.
• Attend department meetings and in-services.
• Collaborate closely with Lead Mammography Technologist to meet MQSA standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Contract Details

• Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: PM Shift
• Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid Mammography Technologist license in California
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Mammography Technologist within the last year
• ARRT (R) certification
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience with galactogram, stereotactic biopsy, and needle localization procedures
• Experience with Epic system

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with galactogram, mammography, stereotactic biopsy, needle localization, and bone density procedures.

Additional Information

• Works under supervision of Mammo Supervisor and Manager.
• Must comply with Radiation Practice Standards and quality assurance requirements.
• No prior travel experience explicitly required.
