Oncology Registered Nurse

Location: Chapel Hill, North Carolina
Schedule: Days, 10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week
Contract length: 13 weeks

Overview

Provides direct clinical nursing care in a hospital setting, coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process.

Required Qualifications

• 1 year of nursing experience
• Nursing Diploma, or ADN/ASN from an accredited school of Nursing
• Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from AHA or ARC
• Chemotherapy immunotherapy certification

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and coordinate patient care
• Assess patient and family learning needs and provide education support
• Evaluate patient outcomes and revise care plans as needed
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support continuity of care
• Provide care for patients with complex physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing as needed
• Prioritize care, discharge needs, and planning for complex patients
• Support unit goals, collaboration, and performance improvement
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
